Jeh Johnson: January 6th Was An Act of ‘Terrorism’ and ‘Insurrection’

Former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson joins Jill Wine-Banks and Victor Shi on the latest episode of iGen Politics, just over 150 days after the January 6th insurrection to talk about the current landscape of domestic extremism, the road ahead for alt-right, white-nationalist groups, the need for an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate what caused the January 6th insurrection and how to prevent another one from happening, and the role President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and other agencies have in stopping domestic extremism from continuing to harm our country. Before becoming Secretary of Homeland Security under President Biden, Jeh served as General Counsel of the Department of Defense, General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force, and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Currently, Jeh is a partner at the Paul Weiss law firm.
