Nobel Prize Economist and New York Times Opinion Columnist Paul Krugman joins Jill Wine-Banks and Victor Shi in the latest episode of Intergenerational Politics to talk about his new book, “Arguing with Zombies: Economics, Politics, and the Fight For a Better Future.” We discuss why Paul wrote the book, what it was like going from academia to punditry and what he has observed in the punditry world, why there are “Zombie” ideas in the world, what role pundits and commentators have in communicating clearly and effectively, and his thoughts on the Republican and Democratic Party in our polarizing time. Paul has written or edited 27 books and more than 200 papers in professional journals. He also founded the “New Trade Theory,” a major rethinking of International Trade. He has a Ph.D. from MIT and has taught at Yale, MIT, Stanford, and is currently a Professor Emeritus at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School and a Distinguished Professor at the City University of New York.
