I have not dealt with sexual violence, nor do I ever want to be entangled in such a horrific situation. However, what I have seen is a movement that allows women—regardless of party, status, or race—to come out and feel empowered to share their sexual violence story. I am referring to a movement known as “Me too.”

“Me too” is an extraordinary movement which enables women to discover pathways to heal from sexual assult by connecting them to resources. “Me too” is a remarkable movement driven by sexual violence survivors, aiming to enact solutions throughout communities, states, and even the world on the issue of denouncing the misconduct of sexual harassment. “Me too,” ultimately empowers women to bring attention to an essential national dialogue that must be conducted in every town in America.

Throughout the past five years, “Me Too” has had its shining moments, bringing awareness and attention to the toxic behavior that has pervaded American society for too long.

Take, for example, the following courageous women who shared their story for the world to witness:

  • Rose McGowan
  • Gwyneth Paltrow
